ars canendi - Ensemble für Musik vom Mittelalter bis Renaissance

Against the historic backdrop of Creuzburg Castle, the ars canendi ensemble will present its new program, “Kommt ihr G’spielen,” on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. In the castle’s festive hall, the musicians will bring the sounds of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance back to life with an impressive array of historical instruments. The ensemble will perform rare sounds from the nyckelharpa, hurdy-gurdy, cittern, and Hümmelchen. In keeping with the castle’s summery atmosphere, ars canendi offers not only a treat for the ears but also an authentic overall experience. The program features European dances, English Renaissance works, and traditional tunes that celebrate the joy of making music together. Admission is free; donations are requested at the exit.
